Insurance needs analysis and policy research

We often hear of people who were told by their insurance agent how much insurance they should purchase without the agent even knowing how much they were worth. This approach is totally wrong. Insurance is not an investment- it is protection against a financially devastating event with a low probability of occurrence.  If an event is not financially devastating, it does not need to be insured against. In order to ascertain whether an event is financially problematic for someone, that person's financial worth needs to be known!
