Estate and asset protection planning education
Though we are not attorneys and cannot give clients legal advice or recommendations, we can educate them about the general issues involved with estate planning and asset protection. We will work closely with your attorneys to make sure your estate and asset protection planning is implemented and incorporated into your financial plan.
We'll be able to highlight areas of your financial plan that require legal estate planning and we can often help you lower your legal fees by helping you answer basic estate planning questions and helping you focus your needs so you spend less time with your attorney.
Anyone who has assets needs to consider asset protection. It impacts us all, especially professionals such as doctors who are particularly at risk from frivolous law suits. We will work with your attorney to help examine relevant strategies including the use of insurance, LLCs, LLPs, homestead exemptions, equity stripping, qualified retirement accounts, and irrevocable trusts to help protect assets. As is the case with most planning, the earlier the planning the better. This is especially true with regards to asset protection.
